Agriturismo in the Chianti Classico region, between Siena and Florence

In the heart of the Chianti Classico countryside, between Siena and Florence, lies this hidden gem surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and cypress trees. The restoration of this centuries-old hamlet has been carried out with great care, preserving its authentic Tuscan character throughout. Traditional stone farmhouses, an elegant villa and a small church dating back to the year 998 create a unique setting where history, tranquillity and modern comfort come together.

The current owner's grandmother purchased the borgo in the 1970s. Hospitality has been at the heart of the estate ever since, offering guests the opportunity to experience everyday life in the Tuscan countryside at first hand.

Siena, one of my favourite cities in Tuscany, is less than a 30-minute drive away and is well worth visiting more than once during your stay. Florence can be reached in around an hour, while Arezzo, San Gimignano, Montalcino and Montepulciano all make excellent day trips. The charming villages of Radda in Chianti and Gaiole in Chianti are just 15 minutes away by car. There is so much to see and do in this part of Tuscany that you could easily spend a week or longer here.

Swimming pool and small wellness area

There is plenty of outdoor space to enjoy, and the panoramic swimming pool offers beautiful views across the vineyards and rolling hills of the Chianti Classico region. Next to the pool, guests can help themselves to refreshments from the courtesy bar.

This is the kind of place that encourages you to slow down and relax. A refreshing swim, a walk through the vineyards or past the old stone houses, and an aperitivo at sunset are often all you need to enjoy the peace and authenticity of the Tuscan countryside.

The borgo's former wine cellar has been converted into a small wellness area featuring a heated mini hydromassage pool (available by reservation). There is also a communal area where guests can purchase a selection of products, including pasta and sauces. Here you will also find a courtesy bar serving drinks as well as a number of simple lunch dishes and sandwiches.

Relaxed communal dinners

During the summer season, outdoor evenings are regularly organised, often accompanied by live music. These occasions bring guests together to enjoy the flavours of Tuscan cuisine in a relaxed setting.

Every other week, guests can join either a barbecue evening or a Pinsa Romana night. Pinsa is a light and crispy Roman-style flatbread, often described as a variation of pizza, and is served alongside craft beers from the local area.

Seated at long tables on the lawn, guests can enjoy local specialities in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. The evening traditionally ends with cantucci biscuits, a glass of Vin Santo and a toast under the stars.

E-bike tours and cooking classes

Guests can rent electric mountain bikes on site, and every Tuesday it is possible to join one of the region's most scenic MTB routes (reservation and supplement required). The route passes through vineyards, along gravel roads and through some of the most beautiful landscapes of the Chianti region.

Those interested in discovering Tuscan culinary traditions can take part in a cooking workshop. Guided by an enthusiastic local lady who has been sharing her knowledge and recipes for many years, guests learn how to make fresh pasta by hand using traditional methods. Thanks to her wealth of experience, even more experienced home cooks are likely to learn something new about authentic Tuscan cuisine.

The workshop concludes around a large wooden table, where everyone enjoys the dishes prepared during the afternoon, accompanied, of course, by a good glass of Chianti.

B&B rooms and 7 apartments

The accommodation is spread throughout the medieval borgo, with rooms located in the main villa and apartments housed within the characteristic stone buildings surrounding the small church. The estate offers 8 guest rooms and 7 apartments, suitable for both couples and families.

The rooms in the historic villa combine modern comforts, including Wi-Fi and air conditioning, with authentic Tuscan character. Exposed wooden beams, terracotta floors, antique furnishings and carefully chosen details reflect the rural traditions of the Chianti region.

The apartments feature fully equipped kitchens and private outdoor spaces such as terraces, loggias and small gardens. Here too, traditional Tuscan features such as beamed ceilings and fireplaces are combined with modern comforts.

Tuscan breakfast

Each morning, guests can start the day with a generous breakfast inspired by Tuscan traditions. For guests staying in the rooms, breakfast is served in one of the villa's welcoming breakfast rooms or, weather permitting, on the sunny terrace.

Guests staying in the apartments can choose a breakfast basket, allowing them to enjoy breakfast at their own pace on their private terrace while taking in the views of the Tuscan hills.

In short

In my opinion, this agriturismo offers an excellent balance of comfort and authenticity in an ideal location for exploring both Chianti and the wider Tuscany region. What makes this place particularly special, however, is its atmosphere: peaceful, welcoming and unpretentious. It is the kind of place where you can experience Tuscany at a slower pace, away from the busiest tourist areas.
