Agriturismo with breakfast and evening buffet, not far from the beach

On a morning in October, I had an appointment with the owners of this new agriturismo, located about 10 kilometers from Follonica, one of the most famous seaside resorts in Tuscany, and about 15 kilometers from Massa marittima, in the Tuscan Maremma.
The area is not only perfect for going to the beach, because it is surrounded by numerous bike paths and cycling routes. So if you like cycling, you can have a great time here!
From the phone conversation I had before our meeting, I already had a feeling that this could be a great new addition to MyItaly, but as soon as I arrived, I knew I had truly found a gem. As soon as I stepped through the gate of the agriturismo, it was as if the hustle and bustle of everyday life had disappeared.
The owner warmly welcomed me and proudly showed me the impressive renovation work he and his wife have carried out to revive this authentic farmhouse.
The carefully maintained Italian-style garden full of flowers and plants, the pool, surrounded by a beautiful sun terrace of grass and the wooden pergola where you can sit in the shade. Everything is carefully laid out and maintained. And then the warm welcome from the owner who showed me all the details of this little paradise.

Located in the middle of the Tuscan countryside of the Maremma, the farm is surrounded by 17 acres of land cultivated with olive trees and crops, according to the organic method. You can buy their own olive oil and legumes on site, and as everything here is made with care and attention, these are obviously of high quality! All the products they use here are local and personally selected.

The rooms and the apartment

There are 8 rooms with double beds and private bathrooms with walk-in showers. Each room is a detached cottage of 18 m2, with mosquito nets, motorized darkening curtains, a kettle, minibar and air conditioning. Each room has a different color and a private outdoor area with sun loungers and hammock where you can relax after a day at the beach.

On the first floor, above the breakfast room, is a beautiful apartment with kitchen and living room, three bedrooms with double beds and two bathrooms. At the entrance to the apartment there is a small loggia with two armchairs and the apartment has air conditioning. This beautiful apartment is the perfect accommodation for a family.

Ariturismo with heated pool

The beautiful swimming pool of the agriturismo is surrounded by a well-kept green lawn and has a wooden border. There are comfortable sun loungers with bath towels and a wooden pergola where you can enjoy some shade when it is hot. The rectangular pool is 22 m long, 4.5 m wide and 1.4 m deep. It has a whirlpool area with 6 seating places and 2 lying places, and in the cooler months of the year the water is heated a few degrees so you can enjoy it even in the off-season.

Breakfast, aperitif and evening buffet

The day starts well here, with a delicious breakfast in the common room, or on the terrace if the weather allows.
It is a rich and quality breakfast: both sweet and savory with quality local products that the owners have discovered especially for their guests.
Fresh bread is baked every morning and you can choose from a wide selection of teas. There is no better way to start the day!
The owners also organize a shared buffet for their guests a few nights a week during summer. Every Tuesday and Saturday in high season, you can enjoy a free buffet with local and homemade products at the common outdoor bar (from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.). You only pay for the drinks, from refreshing cocktails to selected wines from the region. A special moment to spend an evening in company and try new local products and wines!
The outdoor bar is also open in the afternoon (from 3 p.m.) for a cup of coffee or an aperitif (for a fee), just ask and the owner will be happy to prepare it for you!
There are also two nice restaurants less than a kilometer from the agriturismo.

A welcoming agriturismo for those who want to be a few kilometers from the sea but do not want to stay in a busy seaside resort. The excellent breakfast to start the day and the two buffet evenings in high season are truly special. This combined with the warm welcome, the beautiful detached rooms and the attention to detail are the ingredients for a relaxing vacation away from the daily stress!
