Authentic agriturismo within walking distance of San Gimignano
There are places where the Tuscan landscape matches exactly what you imagine: rolling hills, old stone farmhouses and a horizon lined with vineyards. This agriturismo fits that picture perfectly. A welcoming spot within walking distance of San Gimignano.
The historic centre of San Gimignano is less than 2 kilometres away. The road (without streetlighs) does climb uphill, but it’s walkable — and it means you can avoid the hassle of parking in town.
Swimming pool, breakfast and restaurant
You can easily forget about the car for a few days. The agriturismo has a restaurant just approx. 50 metres from the rooms, a breakfast room (located by the restaurant), a swimming pool with views of the hills and a lovely garden with a central fountain where you can relax. And if you fancy an evening stroll or an ice cream from Gelateria Dondoli — one of Tuscany’s most famous gelaterias — you can simply walk into town.
The pool sits beautifully among the hills, with the skyline of San Gimignano behind you. An ideal place to unwind with a book or a drink.
This is also a working wine estate with around 6.5 hectares of vineyards (including Sangiovese and Vernaccia di San Gimignano) and extensive olive groves. Guests can join tastings, discover different wines and enjoy a glass while taking in the view over the Tuscan countryside.
What makes this place truly special is the family who run it. The mother is in the kitchen, father Sergio is always around, and the daughters help both in the restaurant and with the accommodation. Their warm hospitality is felt in everything they do.
The family restaurant serves traditional Tuscan dishes prepared with care and passion. As it is also popular with non-resident guests, booking in advance is recommended. Breakfast is served here too, with a wide selection of high-quality sweet and savoury items.
Central location in Tuscany
Being so close to San Gimignano is a real advantage, but the wider area also has plenty to offer. From the agriturismo you can easily drive to Volterra, a beautiful Etruscan town with atmospheric alleys and an impressive Roman theatre. Certaldo Alto — a small yet surprisingly charming medieval village — is another highlight, and the funicular takes you straight to the historic centre at the top of the hill.
For those who enjoy exploring a bit further, Siena is about 45 minutes away — perfect for a day trip filled with culture, piazzas, shops and delicious lunch spots.
The rooms
The 16 rooms are located in an 18th-century farmhouse that has been completely restored. Authentic features such as stone walls and wooden beams have been beautifully preserved, while each room offers modern comfort.
All rooms have a private bathroom with shower, air conditioning/heating, Wi-Fi, minibar, safe, telephone and TV.
In short
You stay here in a warm, welcoming setting surrounded by a landscape that looks as if it has come straight from a postcard. Mornings begin with a good breakfast, followed by relaxation by the pool or a walk through the olive groves, and end with a glass of wine and a tasty dinner at the restaurant.
For those who like to explore, there are plenty of options nearby: medieval San Gimignano is within walking distance and charming destinations such as Volterra, Certaldo Alto and the Chianti region are all easy to reach by car.
A perfect spot to unwind and experience the very best of Tuscany.
