Welcoming Farmhouse-Agriturismo with la mamma in the kitchen
This agriturismo is still a very active farm. They grow olives and corn. So don’t be surprised by the occasional tractor or the barn full of farming equipment. If you come along the dirt road leading to the farmhouse, it seems at first a bit messy because you have to pass the barns of the farm and the farmhouse where the family lives. I honestly thought for a moment of turning round, but afterwards I was so glad I hadn’t. The apartments and pool of the agriturismo are in fact really nice: new and well maintained. And what a fantastic view!
Pool and restaurant
I was very warmly welcomed by "la mamma" Angela with her two sons, Marco and Nicola. I was there on a cold day in January and they had the fireplace lit for me and I got a nice espresso. In the grounds of the agriturismo are a ping-pong table, a pool and a restaurant where several times a week Angela prepares her specialities. You dine together with the family.
The apartments
There are 8 apartments. The apartments are up to 3 years old and nicely decorated in a typical Tuscan "Rustico" style. They are on the ground or first floor of the farmhouse, have a private patio and are equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher and microwave.
In short
This is a cosy, centrally located agriturismo and excellent value for money. Siena and Florence are located approximately 65 kilometres away. San Gimignano is 25 kilometres. Recommended specially for hospitality and splendid views.
